Who wants 2560×1440?

Two big audiences share this number. YouTube channel banners: 2560×1440 is the recommended upload (minimum 2048×1152, maximum file size 6 MB) so the art survives on TV screens. And QHD monitors: 2560×1440 is the native wallpaper size for a huge share of desktop displays. This page presets exactly those pixels with a 2 MB budget — high quality at this resolution and comfortably under YouTube's cap.

The YouTube banner safe area

YouTube shows different slices of the banner per device: TVs get the full 2560×1440, desktop gets a wide band, and phones see only the central 1546×423 region. Channel name, faces, schedule — anything essential — must live inside that central strip, or mobile viewers never see it. Wallpapers and the upscale warning

For a QHD wallpaper the 2 MB preset is usually invisible-compression territory; raise it if you have a very detailed source. If your source is smaller than 2560×1440, PixFit warns before stretching — enlarging can't invent detail, and banners get re-examined on big TVs.
