Every upload spec below was checked against the linked official source (July 2026). Click a requirement for details, caveats and the resizer preset to that exact spec. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
Application portals reject files for being a few kilobytes off, and the numbers are scattered across notification PDFs and third-party guides that frequently copy each other's mistakes. This table collects every requirement PixFit has a dedicated page for. Each spec was checked against the linked official source or several consistent current sources in July 2026; the linked detail page explains where the numbers come from, what the common garblings are, and opens the resizer preset to that exact spec.

Ranges like "20–50 KB" are enforced at both ends by most Indian exam portals — a file under the minimum is rejected just like an oversized one. Where a spec-compliant encode naturally lands below the floor (tiny signature boxes are the usual case), PixFit meets the minimum with a spec-valid JPEG comment padding that changes no pixels; the detail pages explain when that applies. "Live-captured" means the portal takes the photo with your webcam during registration and there is nothing to upload or resize.
Portals revise their windows between cycles — NEET and JEE Main both changed theirs for 2026. Your notification or the upload screen in front of you is always the authority; this page and the detail pages tell you what was verified and when, not what can never change. If a portal shows different numbers than this table, trust the portal (and the free-text Target and Exact size fields above accept any spec you type).
Every resize, crop and compression runs in your browser. An ID photo, a signature and a thumb impression are exactly the kinds of files that should not be round-tripped through someone's server — that is the point of this tool.
