Drop your photograph, get a 200×230 px JPEG between 20 and 50 KB — the IDBI Bank JAM upload format, minimum included. Nothing is uploaded; it all runs in your browser.
IDBI Bank recruits Junior Assistant Managers (JAM), Grade ‘O’ through advertisements on idbi.bank.in with an IBPS-platform online form — 1,100 vacancies across 16 zones in the Regional 2026–27 exercise alone. The JAM adverts take four image uploads, and both the 2025–26 and 2026–27 advertisements print identical numbers. Photograph: a recent passport-style colour picture against a light-coloured, preferably white background, 200×230 pixels (preferred), 20kb–50kb — this page is preset to exactly that, minimum included. Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable; religious headwear is allowed if it doesn’t cover the face. Signature: 140×60 pixels (preferred), 10kb–20kb, black ink on white paper, not in capital letters — and if your signature on the attendance sheet or call letter doesn’t match the upload, you’re disqualified. Left thumb impression: black or blue ink, 240×240 pixels at 200 DPI (3×3 cm), 20 KB–50 KB — no left thumb? The advert’s own fallback chain runs right thumb, then left-hand fingers, then right-hand fingers, then left toe, and asks you to name the digit in the uploaded document. Handwritten declaration: 800×400 pixels at 200 DPI (10×5 cm), 50 KB–100 KB, the advert’s exact sentence copied in your own handwriting in English, black ink, not capitals — candidates who cannot write may upload it typed with a thumb impression below. The form also captures a live photograph by webcam or phone-QR in addition to the file, and the advert says the system will not let you move forward until photo and signature are as specified.
IDBI’s own current-year advertisements differ by post. The Specialist Cadre Officer 2026–27 advertisement (Advt No 03/2026–27) specifies only the photograph (same 200×230, 20–50kb, plus live capture) and signature (140×60, 10–20kb) — no thumb impression, no handwritten declaration, anywhere in its 31 pages. The JAM and Assistant Manager Grade ‘A’ adverts want all four. Same bank, same platform, same year — different upload sets. Read the “Guidelines for scanning” annexure of your advertisement rather than assuming; the IBPS thumb & declaration page is preset to the two extra windows if yours needs them.
Search “JAM photo size” and most results are about IIT JAM — the Joint Admission Test for Masters, an M.Sc. admissions exam with its own portal and its own, much looser photo window (50–200 kB on the JAM websites); there are dedicated “JAM photo resizer” tools built to that spec. A 150 KB file from one of those is three times the bank form’s 50kb ceiling. If you’re applying to IDBI Bank, the spec is this page’s: 20kb–50kb photo, 10kb–20kb signature. (And the reverse holds — don’t take a 45 KB bank-spec photo to the IIT JAM portal expecting top quality.)
The JAM Regional advertisement is blunt about what happens after you apply: the bank may capture your thumb impression and/or IRIS scan in digital format — before the start of the online exam, at document verification and interview, at induction/joining, and at any time after joining — and match it to establish you’re the same person; the verification decision is final. The uploaded photo gets pasted-and-signed-across on your call-letter printout and compared with the live capture, so keep copies of the exact photo you upload and don’t change your appearance mid-process. After uploading, check the previews on the form and re-upload anything blurry before submitting — and note that if you file multiple applications, only the latest completed one counts and earlier fees are forfeited.
The JAM Regional 2026–27 cycle (for candidates with 2 years’ banking/NBFC experience, posted zone-wise with a local-language requirement) ran registration March 8–19, 2026 with the online test on April 12, 2026 — document-verification and interview call letters are out as this is written. The pan-India entry-level JAM 2025–26 cycle ran May 8–20, 2025 (test June 8); IDBI has run JAM hiring every year lately, so the next window is never far. Fees both cycles: ₹1050 (application + intimation) or ₹250 intimation-only for SC/ST/PwD, online only; Grade ‘O’ CTC at joining is about ₹6.14–6.5 lakh. Guides that rank for these searches are often frozen at an older cycle — a widely-cited one is dated February 2023 and never mentions the declaration’s 800×400 dimensions or the live webcam/QR capture step in the current adverts. This page runs entirely in your browser: photo, signature, thumb print and handwriting never leave your device, and the re-encode strips EXIF metadata (including GPS) as a side effect.
Spec sources: IDBI Bank’s own advertisement PDFs on idbi.bank.in (careers → current openings) — JAM Grade ‘O’ Regional 2026–27 (Advertisement no. 7/2025–26, 33 pp), JAM Grade ‘O’ 2025–26 (32 pp) and Specialist Cadre Officer 2026–27 (Advt No 03/2026–27, 31 pp), each’s “Guidelines for scanning and Upload” annexure — read August 2026. Photo 200×230 px 20kb–50kb + live capture; signature 140×60 px 10kb–20kb; JAM only: thumb 240×240 px @ 200 DPI 20–50 KB, declaration 800×400 px @ 200 DPI 50–100 KB. The advertisement for the cycle you apply in — and the upload screen itself — win over this page.
