Drop your photograph, get a 200×230 px JPEG between 20 and 50 KB — the ECGC PO upload format, minimum included. Nothing is uploaded; it all runs in your browser.
ECGC Ltd — the government-owned export credit insurer — recruits Probationary Officers through an advertisement on ecgc.in (37 posts plus 3 backlog in the FY 2024–25 exercise), with an IBPS-platform online form that takes four image uploads. Annexure I of ECGC’s own advertisement gives the numbers. Photograph: a recent passport-style colour picture against a light-coloured, preferably white background, 200×230 pixels (preferred), 20kb–50kb — this page is preset to exactly that, minimum included. Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable; religious headwear is allowed if it doesn’t cover the face; glasses are fine if there are no reflections and your eyes can be clearly seen. Signature: 140×60 pixels (preferred), 10kb–20kb, black ink on white paper — capital-letter signatures are not accepted, and if your signature on the attendance sheet or call letter doesn’t match the upload, you’re disqualified. Left thumb impression: black or blue ink, 240×240 pixels at 200 DPI (3×3 cm), 20 KB–50 KB. Handwritten declaration: 800×400 pixels at 200 DPI (10×5 cm), 50 KB–100 KB, written in English in your own hand in black ink, not in capitals — the exact sentence to copy is printed in the advertisement, and candidates who cannot write may upload it typed with their left thumb impression below it.
Here’s the trap in ECGC’s Annexure I: the signature, thumb and declaration specs are printed as a single numbered list under one heading (“Signature, left thumb impression and hand-written declaration Image”). Items i–iv are the signature’s numbers (140×60, 10–20kb), items v–viii the thumb’s (240×240 at 200 DPI, 20–50 KB), items ix–xii the declaration’s (800×400 at 200 DPI, 50–100 KB) — but nothing in the layout says the list switches subject twice. Read top-down casually and you’ll scan your thumb at 140×60 under 20kb — when the thumb actually has a 20 KB floor and four times the pixels. The declaration block is restated separately on the next page of the PDF with the same numbers, which settles it. The IBPS thumb & declaration page is preset to exactly these figures; PixFit pads any of the four up with a spec-valid JPEG comment if your scan encodes under its floor, and writes the 200 DPI label into the file.
Unlike SEBI, SIDBI, PFRDA, LIC and NIACL — whose forms on the same platform now demand a live webcam or phone-QR capture alongside the upload — ECGC’s advertisement has no live-capture step. The file you upload is the photo that follows you through the process, so the advert leans on it hard: bring one additional copy of the same photograph (as pasted on your call letter) to the exam, and — ECGC’s own advice — retain about 8 copies of it for the later stages. At the venue, registration is by photo capture while you stand, biometric left-thumb data is taken, and the captured photo is matched against your upload at every stage — don’t change your appearance, and note that refusing a biometric capture can cancel your candidature (if your left thumb is injured, tell the centre staff). If any upload looks blurry on the form preview, the advert’s own Note says to edit the application and re-upload before final submission — because after clicking COMPLETE REGISTRATION, no change is permitted.
Searching “ECGC PO photo size” lands you on generic IBPS-preset resizer tools — and since ECGC uses the standard IBPS windows, their photo and signature numbers happen to be right. What they don’t tell you: the thumb’s 20 KB floor and 240×240 dimensions, the declaration’s 50–100 KB window, the merged-list trap above, or that ECGC (unlike its platform siblings) takes no live capture — so the uploaded file matters more, not less. In the FY 2024–25 cycle the fee was ₹900 including intimation charges (₹175 intimation only for SC/ST/PwBD), payable online with the form. The post is Probationary Officer in the Executive Officer cadre, pay scale starting at ₹53,600, with housing, transport, medical and a long list of allowances. Registration ran September 14 – October 13, 2024, the online exam was held November 16, 2024 at 23 centres, interviews followed in early 2025 in Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi and Bangalore, and the selected-candidates list went up in March 2026 — that cycle is complete, and this page is here for the next one; ECGC has recruited POs roughly every year (2021–22 through 2024–25).
