Drop your photograph, get a 200×230 px JPEG between 20 and 50 KB — the SEBI Grade A upload format, minimum included. Nothing is uploaded; it all runs in your browser.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India recruits Officer Grade A (Assistant Manager) roughly once a year across General, Legal, IT, Research, Official Language and Engineering streams, and the application form takes four image uploads. The current advertisement on sebi.gov.in (2025 cycle, published October 2025) specifies them precisely:
Photograph: 200×230 pixels (preferred), JPG/JPEG, 20–50 KB — this page is preset to exactly that, minimum included. Signature: 140×60 pixels, 10–20 KB, black ink on white paper, in your running hand — capital-letter signatures are not accepted. Left thumb impression: 240×240 pixels at 200 DPI (3×3 cm), black or blue ink, 20–50 KB. Handwriting declaration: 800×400 pixels at 200 DPI (10×5 cm), written in English in your own hand in black ink, 50–100 KB. These are the same four formats IBPS uses — SEBI runs its application on the IBPS platform — so the signature and thumb & declaration pages carry the matching presets and scanning advice.
Several tools that sell a “SEBI Grade A resizer” handle only the photo and signature; the ones that add the thumb impression still skip the handwriting declaration — the largest and only 50 KB-floored upload of the four. A clean 800×400 scan of a few handwritten lines often encodes under 50 KB, which the portal rejects; PixFit pads it up with a spec-valid JPEG comment so it lands inside 50–100 KB at full quality. One tool goes further and invents a spec — “crop to 4.5×3.5 cm and compress to 100 KB” for the photo — numbers that appear nowhere in SEBI's advertisement. The real photo rule is 200×230 pixels at 20–50 KB.
Besides the uploaded file, the form makes you capture a live photograph during registration — by webcam, or by scanning a QR code and shooting on your phone — against a light background, no cap or dark glasses. And at the exam venue SEBI runs Aadhaar-linked biometric authentication, captures your photo and your left-eye IRIS (remove contact lenses and spectacles for the scan — SEBI's advertisement advises wearing spectacles rather than contacts that day), and matches the venue photo against the one you uploaded: the advertisement's words are that you must not change your appearance from the uploaded photo. So upload a recent photo that actually looks like you — not a years-old scan. The signature is printed on your call letter, and a mismatch between it and what you sign in the hall is a disqualification ground.
In the 2025 cycle, applications ran October 30 – November 28, 2025, with Phase I on January 10, 2026, Phase II on February 21, 2026, and interview call letters out in April 2026. The fee is ₹1000 + 18% GST (unreserved/OBC/EWS) or ₹100 + GST (SC/ST/PwBD), and you may apply to at most two streams — each needs its own application, its own fee, and its own set of these four uploads. The next cycle's advertisement will restate the formats; the careers page on sebi.gov.in is the authority.
