Fit

Drop your photo, ID-proof scan or signature and fit it for the DSSSB OARS portal (dsssbonline.nic.in). The board’s adverts publish exactly one numeric spec — the 15–60 KB photo-ID scan — and this page covers it, plus the photo rules DSSSB actually states. Everything runs in your browser; nothing leaves your device.

The one number DSSSB actually publishes

The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) hires for Delhi government departments, MCD, NDMC, Delhi Jal Board and more through its OARS portal at dsssbonline.nic.in — and its advertisements publish exactly one numeric upload spec, and it is not the photograph. Both current adverts (Advt No. 01/2026, the Combined Examination, and Advt No. 03/2026) state it identically: the photo identity proof — PAN card, Voter ID, driving licence or passport — must be scanned in jpg/jpeg, “should not be less than 15 kb and should not exceed 60 KB”, with a minimum resolution per document: 300×200 pixels for PAN/DL, 200×300 for Voter Card, 450×350 for Passport. Note both halves: a byte floor (an over-compressed scan fails) and pixel minimums (a shrunken scan fails). To fit an ID scan here, type 58 KB as the target with 16 KB in the minimum field — safely inside DSSSB’s window under either byte convention — and keep the whole card in frame and sharp: the adverts warn “Candidates should not upload blur photo identity proof”, and the proof you upload “will be the part of the Admit Card”, so it follows you to the exam hall.

The Aadhaar carve-out

Same clause, next sentence: “In case Aadhaar number is provided as identity proof than no scanned id proof is required to be uploaded.” If you register with your Aadhaar number, the scan step disappears entirely. If you use any of the other four documents, the 15–60 KB window above is the law.

Photo and signature — rules, not numbers

For the photograph and signature themselves, DSSSB publishes content rules, verbatim in both adverts: a “recent and clear colour photograph”, background “plain white or off-white” (off-white is explicitly fine here — unlike boards that demand pure white), “full face, front view, eyes open”. The teeth are real: “Online Applications with blurred/ illegible Photograph/ Signature will be rejected” — and “Candidate must bring same photo printed on photo quality paper whenever asked by the Board”, so keep the original high-quality file; the photo you upload is the photo you carry. What DSSSB does not publish anywhere — adverts, instructions page, or dsssb.delhi.gov.in at large — is a byte size or pixel dimension for either image. Those limits live on the OARS upload screen, behind the login.

“Postcard size, 480×672, exactly as per DSSSB guidelines” — says who?

Search “DSSSB photo size” and the resizer sites answer in unison-ish: one sells a “postcard” photo at 480×672 px capped at 300 KB with a 140×110 signature under 40 KB and claims these are “exactly the pixels required by OARS”; another sells 480×672 px, 50–300 KB plus a 140×110 px, 10–40 KB signature “exactly as per DSSSB guidelines”. No DSSSB advertisement or notice contains any of those figures — and neither tool mentions the 15–60 KB ID-proof spec the Board actually prints. The folklore may well echo what the portal enforces inside the login — the numbers are oddly consistent — which is why this page’s preset is an honest hedge, clearly labelled: 480×672 at 52–240 KB lands inside every window those tools claim, at zero quality cost. But the only authority on numbers is the upload screen in front of you: if OARS states different limits when your window opens, type those into the target and size fields and PixFit will hit them instead. For the signature: dark ink on white paper, tick Signature photo cleanup (or draw one on the signature pad), and about 35 KB at 140×110 clears every folklore claim.

OARS is one-shot in the ways that hurt

Registration on dsssbonline.nic.in is open 24x7 and the form allows 30 minutes — have the scans ready before you start. The adverts’ own warnings: create one unique registration number only; “Name, Gender, Fathers name once entered can’t be edited under any circumstances”; preview before final submit, because registration details “will not change on later stages”; and once an application is submitted, “no request for change / correction/ modification (including change of category) shall be entertained” — by post, fax, email or in person. Later, shortlisted candidates upload certificates at the online e-dossier calling and must submit department/post preferences there; miss that window and “no further opportunity” is given. Prepare the photo, signature, ID scan and certificate scans once, properly, and every DSSSB window after that is form-filling.

DSSSB is not SSC

Despite the similar name, DSSSB is Delhi’s own board — separate from the central government’s Staff Selection Commission, with its own portal, its own rules and its own (unpublished) upload limits. Applying to both? The SSC page covers the central commission’s first-party spec, and the full verified table has UPPSC, HSSC, Railway RRB and seventy more.

Windows here are announced, then gone

Advt 01/2026 (Combined Examination 2026: Legal Assistant, Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer (Civil), Grade-II/ASO) ran 24.02.2026–25.03.2026; Advt 03/2026 (twenty-five post codes, Junior Scientific Assistant to Assistant Archivist) closed 15.07.2026. Both are closed as this page is written — but DSSSB recruits continuously across dozens of post codes, the OARS registration is evergreen, and the Combined Examination cycle is in progress. The next vacancy notice will assume your files are ready.

Privacy

A photo-ID scan — your PAN card, your passport — is exactly the file that should never pass through a resizer’s server, and most DSSSB photo tools are server-side uploads. PixFit runs entirely in your browser: the photo, the ID scan, the signature — nothing leaves your device. The re-encode strips EXIF metadata (including GPS) as a side effect. Vacancies and notices live at dsssb.delhi.gov.in; applications happen only at dsssbonline.nic.in.

Spec sources: DSSSB’s own Advt No. 01/2026 (Combined Examination 2026, dated 20.02.2026) and Advt No. 03/2026 (dated 29.05.2026) PDFs from dsssb.delhi.gov.in, and the OARS portal’s public pages — all read August 2026. The ID-proof scan window (jpg/jpeg, 15–60 KB, pixel minimums per document) is first-party; DSSSB publishes no public byte or pixel spec for the photograph or signature, and the 480×672 / 50–300 KB preset is a labelled hedge over resizer folklore, not an official number. The upload screen inside OARS is the only authority — if it disagrees with this page, believe the form.
