Drop your photograph, get a 200×230 px JPEG between 20 and 50 KB — the LIC AAO upload format, minimum included. Nothing is uploaded; it all runs in your browser.
LIC recruits Assistant Administrative Officers (Generalist and Specialist, along with Assistant Engineers) through notifications on the careers page at licindia.in — the 32nd-batch cycle (350 Generalist posts) registered August 16 – September 8, 2025. The online form takes four image uploads, and both notifications print the identical “Guidelines for scanning and Upload of Documents”:
Photograph: a recent passport-style colour picture against a light-coloured, preferably white background, 200×230 pixels (preferred), 20kb–50kb — this page is preset to exactly that, minimum included. Glasses are fine if there are no reflections and your eyes and ears are clearly seen; caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable (religious headwear is allowed if it doesn’t cover the face). Signature: 140×60 pixels (preferred), 10kb–20kb, black ink on white paper — capital-letter signatures are not accepted, and a mismatch with your signature on the attendance sheet or call letter at the exam means disqualification. Left thumb impression: black or blue ink on white paper, 240×240 pixels at 200 DPI (3×3 cm), 20–50 KB — right thumb if you don’t have a left one. Handwritten declaration: 800×400 pixels at 200 DPI (10×5 cm), 50–100 KB, written in English in your own hand in black or blue ink, not in capitals — the exact sentence to copy is printed in the notification, and visually-impaired candidates who cannot write may upload it typed with their left thumb impression below it.
Across the IBPS platform family the “240×240 thumb, 800×400 declaration” figures float around as folklore — RBI’s advertisement, for instance, never states them, and resizers that print them for RBI are guessing. LIC’s notification states them outright, DPI and centimetre equivalents included — so for LIC AAO you can aim at 240×240 and 800×400 with the notification behind you. The IBPS thumb & declaration page has both presets ready; the byte windows (20–50 kb thumb, 50–100 kb declaration) match LIC’s exactly.
The notification is unusually direct about the stakes: if the photo or signature is not uploaded per spec, “admission for Examination will be rejected/denied” and the fee is not refunded — it says so twice. But it also hands you the fix, in its own words: if any of the four images looks unclear, edit the application and re-upload it before submitting the form. So preview each upload at full size on the form and swap anything blurry while you still can. If you file multiple applications, only the latest valid completed one is retained and fees paid on the others are forfeited. PixFit’s part in this: it binary-searches JPEG quality to land inside 20–50 kb at 200×230, pads up with a spec-valid JPEG comment if your photo encodes under the 20 kb floor, and writes the 200 DPI label into the file — all in your browser.
Besides the uploaded file, the form requires a live photograph — captured by webcam, or by scanning a QR code and shooting on your phone, auto-uploaded into the form — against a light background, passport-style, no coloured glasses or caps, no small-size photos. And the identity checks continue at the exam: for the 2025 Mains, LIC moved reporting to 7:00 AM specifically for Aadhaar authentication with biometric and photo capture at the centre. Its notice adds a detail nobody’s resize guide mentions: carry your Aadhaar card, and if you have locked your biometrics in Aadhaar, unlock them before the exam. Your uploaded photo, the live capture, and the person at the centre all get compared — use a genuinely recent photo and don’t change your appearance.
In the 2025 cycle the fee was ₹700 + transaction charges + GST (₹85 intimation charges for SC/ST/PwBD), and AAOs start at a basic pay of ₹88,635 — roughly ₹1.26 lakh a month gross in an A-class city. Registration ran August 16 – September 8, 2025 with the Mains on November 8 — that cycle is complete, and this page is here for the next batch; LIC restates the guidelines in every notification, and the PDF on licindia.in/careers for your cycle is the authority.
