Since 2020, IBPS application forms (PO, Clerk, RRB, SO — and SBI and other banks that run registration through the same portal) require four scanned images, not two. Beyond the photo and signature, you upload a left thumb impression — JPG/JPEG, 240×240 pixels (about 3×3 cm at the recommended 200 DPI), 20–50 KB — and a handwritten declaration — JPG/JPEG, 800×400 pixels (about 10×5 cm), 50–100 KB. This page is preset to the declaration format; for the thumb impression, type 240x240 into Exact size and 20-50kb into the target. Both floors and both ceilings are enforced by the portal.
A clean 240×240 scan of a thumb print — mostly white paper with a small dark patch — often encodes below 20 KB at maximum JPEG quality, and the portal rejects it just as firmly as an oversized file. PixFit meets the floor the spec-sanctioned way: best-quality encode first, then the file is padded up to the minimum with a JPEG comment segment (plain bytes the format allows; no pixels change, and the comment says in plain text that it's padding). The 800×400 declaration usually lands inside 50–100 KB on its own, but the same padding covers it if your scan is unusually clean. The DPI label field is preset to 200, matching the annexure's stated scan resolution — PixFit writes it into the JPEG header (a label; the pixel counts above are what the portal validates).
The thumb impression is the left thumb, in black or blue ink on white paper — IBPS's own guideline says use the right thumb only if you don't have a left thumb. Press once, evenly, without smudging. The declaration must be written in English, in your own running handwriting — not capital letters, not typed, not written by anyone else — in black ink on white paper, with no corrections or cuttings. The exact sentence to copy is printed in the scanned-document annexure of your notification; reproduce it word for word, since a paraphrased or altered declaration is treated as invalid. Crop each scan close to the ink before dropping it here — this page center-crops to the target shape, so a loose crop wastes pixels on white space.
Confirmed for Clerk 2026 (CRP CSA-XVI): the notification dated August 1, 2026 on ibps.in restates both formats verbatim — thumb impression JPG/JPEG 240×240 pixels at 200 DPI (3×3 cm), 20–50 KB; handwritten declaration JPG/JPEG 800×400 pixels at 200 DPI (10×5 cm), 50–100 KB, English only, not capitals — and registration runs August 1–21, 2026. The same annexure adds a fifth upload for eligible candidates: the 10th-standard (SSC/SSLC) certificate and certain category certificates go up as an A4 PDF of at most 500 KB — the PDF-under-500 KB page handles that one. The PO/MT-XVI and SPL-XVI notifications (June 30, 2026) carry the identical annexure — thumb, declaration and the 500 KB A4 PDF included; their July 1–21 registration window has closed.
These figures come straight from the guideline PDFs on IBPS's registration portal and they've been stable across recent recruitments, but every notification restates them — the annexure on ibps.in for your exam is the authority. The other two uploads have their own pages: photo, 200×230 px at 20–50 KB and signature, 140×60 px at 10–20 KB. Like everything here, the scans are processed entirely in your browser — a fingerprint and a handwriting sample are exactly the kind of files that shouldn't be round-tripped through someone's server.
