The IBPS signature format

IBPS and SBI application forms take the scanned signature as a 140×60 pixel JPG between 10 KB and 20 KB. That combination is a trap: 140×60 is only 8,400 pixels, and a JPEG that small comes out around 3–6 KB even at maximum quality — below the portal's minimum. Resize alone cannot produce an acceptable file. PixFit encodes your signature at best quality, then pads the file up to 10 KB using a JPEG comment segment — the mechanism the format itself provides for extra bytes. No pixels change, and the portal accepts it.

Getting a good signature scan

Sign with a black or dark-blue pen on plain white paper, then photograph or scan it straight-on in good light. Crop to just the signature before dropping it here — the page center-crops to the 140:60 shape, so a tight, wide crop of the signature itself gives the best result. Don't sign in all capitals; IBPS explicitly rejects that during verification. No scanner or pen to hand? There's also a signature drawing pad — draw your usual signature with a finger or stylus and it's fitted to this exact spec; the notification's word is “scanned,” though, so paper-and-photograph is the safest reading.

Confirmed for Clerk 2026 (CRP CSA-XVI): the notification dated August 1, 2026 on ibps.in restates this signature spec verbatim — 140×60 pixels preferred, 10–20 KB, black ink, not in capital letters — and registration runs August 1–21, 2026. The PO/MT-XVI and SPL-XVI notifications (June 30, 2026) restate the same signature block verbatim; their July 1–21 registration window has closed.

These figures match current IBPS/SBI scanned-document annexures, but each notification restates them and they do get revised — confirm against the PDF for your exam on ibps.in.
